As someone who has worked closely with village schools in Alaska, I’ve seen firsthand the ripple effects of teacher turnover. Each year, new faces arrive, full of good intentions, but often without the understanding or support needed to thrive in these challenging, multi-grade classrooms. 

The students feel this constant change deeply—it disrupts their learning, erodes their trust, and chips away at their sense of stability.
